Stryd Zones / Stryd Workout app
The Stryd ecosystem is an end-to-end solution (from Planning through Reviewing) that works with running power. It provides most of the important power metrics, as well as access to coaches and training plans.
Stryd Zones is a datafield for Garmin watches that connects to a Stryd Footpod to provide power (and non-power) metrics and guided workout functionality.
The Stryd Workout app is available for mobile phones and for Apple Watches. It connects to a Stryd Footpod to provide power (and non-power) metrics and guided workout functionality.
Stryd Zones and the Stryd Workout app are free to use (with the Stryd footpod).

Planning
1.P – Plans. Are there power-based training plans for various event distances/experience levels? Or can you connect to a coach who can provide planned workouts?
- See the Stryd PowerCenter / Mobile page.
1.C – Customisation. Can you adjust training plans, create your own plans, and build your own workouts?
- See the Stryd PowerCenter / Mobile page.
Download
2.D – Download. Can planned workouts be downloaded for execution?
- Stryd Zones uses workout information downloaded to Garmin watches via Garmin connect.
- The Stryd Workout app communicates directly with Stryd PowerCenter to download the next few days of workouts.
Execution
3.P – Power. Can you choose various ways to display power while running, at a minimum: real-time power; lap power? Can you display power in Watts/kg or as a percentage or threshold power?
- Both apps offer real-time, smoothed, lap and workout power.
- Stryd Zones can display power as Watts, Watts/kg, or percentage of threshold power.
- The Stryd Workout app can display power as Watts, or percentage of threshold power.
3.G – Guided workouts. Can the app guide you through a structured workout – a workout with multiple steps, each with their own target and duration?
- Both apps provide a guided workout experience.
- Older Garmin watches may not support guided workouts (due to Connect IQ limitations).
Upload
4.U – Upload. Can completed workouts be uploaded for reviewing?
- On Garmin watches, Stryd Zones and the Stryd Workout app save power (and other) metrics in workout files that are uploaded to and available (for onward sync) in Garmin Connect.
- On Apple Watches and mobile phones, the Stryd Workout app communicates directly with Stryd PowerCenter to upload completed workouts.
Reviewing
5.W – Workout review. Can you review workout summary data and detailed (per second) workout data? Can you review workout compliance (actual vs. target)?
- See the Stryd PowerCenter / Mobile page.
5.M – Metrics. Does the app provide power metrics, at a minimum: threshold power; training load balance; a power-duration curve? Does it also provide ramp rate or running effectiveness?
- See the Stryd PowerCenter / Mobile page.
5.E – Events. Does the app offer a way to calculate power targets for upcoming events and races?
- See the Stryd PowerCenter / Mobile page.
Coaching
6.C – Coaching. Is it possible to coach athletes using the app, at a minimum: multiple athletes, reviewing results/metrics? Can you also provide planned workouts, or communicate with your athletes?
- See the Stryd PowerCenter / Mobile page.
Filling the gaps
Stryd Zones and the Stryd Workout app are designed to work as part of the Stryd Ecosystem – use them with the rest of the ecosystem, rather than trying to fill their gaps.
