As a coach
I believe in training the whole runner, rather than just focusing on the running. And as an older runner, I know that even with the best planning “life happens”.
For that reason, I provide training plans and coaching built around 6 elements
- Power – because power is the most effective way to achieve your personal best
- Training for a goal – all plans include a variety of runs, but results come from aligning the mix to the event
- Gradual progression – matched to improvements in fitness
- Adaptable Plan – because “life happens”
- Strength & Mobility – to move easily and delay fatigue
- Enjoyment – running should be fun!
I coach virtually, using online tools and apps to track progress, offer advice and answer questions.
I am an England Athletics certified Coach in Running Fitness and coach using UK Coaching’s Code of Practice for Sports Coaches.

As a runner

I’m a runner who started running at 50 to keep fit for squash. My squash-playing days are over, but my running is still going strong.
I enjoyed sharing and learning from others so much that I decided to learn how to coach. After a short Covid-enforced delay, I certified with England Athletics as a Coach in Running Fitness.
I firmly believe there’s a runner in all of us (no matter how old), and that anyone can start running or continue to improve while minimising injury risk and having fun.
And I run and coach using power, because I believe power is the most effective way to achieve your personal best.
