Stryd PowerCenter / Mobile

Magnifying glass laid on charts & metrics

Stryd PowerCenter / Mobile

The Stryd PowerCenter / Mobile apps are available to anyone using a Stryd footpod (most features are free, some need a subscription).

Stryd provides features to support planning, reviewing and coaching (some are only available with Stryd membership 💲)

In the following, ‘Stryd’ refers to all components of the Stryd ecosystem – Stryd PowerCenter, Stryd Mobile and the Stryd watch apps.

Planning

Stryd:

✅ offers free training plans for common event distances, as well as plans to build, maintain and test your fitness.

💲 adds a library of additional workouts with Stryd membership. All plans and workouts are power-based.

💲 enables you to adjust training plans, create your own plans, and build your own workouts.

✅ can download workouts planned in the Stryd ecosystem to Garmin, Apple, and COROS watches, and to the Stryd Workout app on a mobile phone.
❌ cannot download workouts planned in the Stryd ecosystem to other watch brands.

Reviewing

Stryd:

✅ accepts completed runs (via manufacturer websites) from all watch brands except Apple Watch – the Stryd Workout app for Apple Watch uploads workouts directly from the app.

✅ provides second-by-second review of uploaded runs.
✅ can show actual power vs. target if you used the Stryd ecosystem to plan the workout.

✅ provides threshold power (Critical Power, Auto-CP) and a power-duration curve.

💲 provides training load balance (Running Stress Balance).

❌ does not provide ramp rate or running effectiveness.

💲 can calculate power targets for upcoming events and races.

Coaching

Stryd:

✅ enables coaches to invite runners to connect to them so that coaches can see completed workouts, their PDC etc.

❌ does not enable coaches to plan workouts for their runners – instead, you may need to use another planning tool like TrainingPeaks, Final Surge or Intervals.icu (all of these tools will be covered later in this topic).

❌ does not support communication between coaches and their runners.

❌ does not ‘go wider’ than power, to include information about sleep, fatigue and other non-quantifiable information.

In summary

The Stryd ecosystem (and the Stryd footpod) is a beginner-friendly way to start Running with Power.

Stryd membership adds additional ‘core’ metrics and features (like Training Load or Race-day calculators).

Stryd also provides solutions for measuring your running form (Stryd Duo, the Stryd Form Profile), although these metrics can be difficult to interpret.

Shouldn’t you be Running with Power?
