It starts with a consultation

We are all different – different abilities, different running experiences, different knowledge and understanding of the most effective way to train and race with power.
The consultation reviews your running goals, your upcoming events (including which are primary, and which secondary), your exercise history, your recent activities and a few other things that may influence any running plan.
The consultation also reviews your experience of using power, your knowledge of the core power-based concepts and builds a plan matched to your individual needs – a plan that includes monthly review and adjustment.
We agree a personalised, power-based plan
Based on the consultation, I’ll put together a plan for your first month.
Whatever we agree, the plan will include Strength & Mobility workouts – if you move more easily, your running is easier, and running drills to work on your form.
It will also include recovery time, so that your body has time to adapt to the stresses and strains – recovery is where the “magic” happens (ask me about the “magic”).

I provide monthly coaching

This is the part where you complete the workouts – the running workouts, the drills, and the strength & mobility workouts.
We monitor your progress using online running platforms (like TrainingPeaks), and through DM/email. If needed, we can Zoom/Facetime.
If you have any questions, you can ask them in the from1runner2another Facebook group (which is full of helpful runners), or if you prefer, you can DM me privately.
And if ‘life happens’, we can adjust your plan (and perhaps your goals) to suit.
Leading up to your primary events, the plan will taper to deliver you to the start refreshed and ready to go, while race-day strategies will give you what you need to avoid starting too fast and reduce the chances of ‘bonking’ or ‘hitting the wall’.
Throughout, I’ll be using an advanced analysis tool (WKO) to monitor and suggest adjustments to your plan based on your power-based workout data.
As we near the start of the next month, we’ll review the month nearing completion, then I’ll put together a plan for the next month. And we keep going like that.
And then we celebrate!
No plan would be complete without reviewing how well it went and conidering “what’s next”?
And of course celebrating your successes, no matter how large or small.
We’ll build these reviews and celebrations into our monthly cycle.
